First Day

The bell rang. I was terrified. Me and the other three new year sevens walked to our new form. We had been told that our form would be made up of kids from all years; that meant we would be sat with year elevens!

The teacher, Mrs Briggs, told us to wait outside while she told the rest of the class we were coming in. The other boy was shaking and the two girls were silent. We were all scared, but we were scared together, which was reassuring.

She ushered us in; everyone was smiling! We were sat together and each assigned a year eleven ‘buddy’ to help us with work and finding our was around the school. The day I had been dreading all summer had finally come, and it was nowhere near as bad as I had thought it would be.
